Andrew Blauvelt, MD
Andrew Blauvelt, M.D., M.B.A., is President of the Oregon Medical Research Center, a small business dedicated to performing high quality clinical research studies in dermatology. He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Purdue University, his medical degree at Michigan State University, and his Healthcare MBA at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Dr. Blauvelt trained in dermatology at the University of Miami and in basic immunology research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has held staff positions at the NIH and more recently as Professor of Dermatology at OHSU and Chief of Dermatology at the Portland VA Medical Center.
Dr. Blauvelt’s clinical and laboratory research expertise is in psoriasis, immunology, and infectious diseases. He has published over 135 papers and spoken across the country and world on these topics. Dr. Blauvelt has also served as Principal Investigator on numerous psoriasis clinical trials, is a key scientific advisor for numerous pharmaceutical companies involved in developing new psoriasis therapies, was a longstanding member of the Medical Advisory Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation, and is an elected member of the International Psoriasis Council, the premier group of psoriasis experts in the world.
