Neal Bhatia, MD
Dr. Neal Bhatia is a board-certified dermatologist who is best known for moving across the country twice in ten years. After completing medical school at the University of Wisconsin and training in Internal Medicine and Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Bhatia attempted his escape to the west coast and was in practice in San Diego. He then returned home to Milwaukee to open his own practice which was just recently acquired by a larger group. He was also an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
This past year he has relocated back to Long Beach, California in private practice and will also be joining the faculty at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Department of Dermatology. In addition to his involvement on several AAD committees, he was also appointed to fill in the one-year vacant term on the AAD Board of Directors starting in 2012.
Dr. Bhatia has been published in multiple journals as well as Dermatology Clinics and completed an edition of Dialogues in Dermatology on immune mechanisms of topical immunomodulators. He has a background in immunology and has interests in systemic diseases as well as mechanisms of therapy, skin cancer, and Rosacea. He sits on several editorial boards and advisory boards for industry, and is an active teacher for dermatologists, primary care physicians, and patients.
Dr. Bhatia is fluent in Spanish and enjoys travel, music, and also teaches a wine class. He has reached his goal of visiting every state (and nearly every Canadian province) and has aspirations to become a disc jockey when his days in medicine are over.
