Marianne Tawa, RN, MSN, ANP
Marianne Tawa is an Adult Nurse Practitioner educated undergraduate at Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing & Northeastern University in Boston. She received her Masters in Primary Health Nursing and Adult Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She has specialized in advanced practice dermatology in academic settings for greater than 20 years.
Since 2000, Marianne has practiced at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston focusing on clinical care and research of patients with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.
Marianne has lectured extensively on cutaneous oncology topics both locally and nationally. Over the past years, she has dedicated both time and effort towards the important goal of building strategic educational alliances between oncology and dermatology nursing groups. Marianne has served as a Board Member and President of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association (DNA). She continues her work with the DNA by serving as faculty with educational workshops and Editorial Board participation for their peer review publication, Journal of Dermatology Nursing (JDNA). She has authored numerous articles and book chapters on dermatology-related topics.
Marianne was the recipient of the Nurse in Washington (NIWI) Award and the Advanced Practice Nurse Health Policy Fellowship. She considers patient advocacy intrinsic to her role as a nurse.
Marianne joined the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation’s Board of Directors in September 2011 and currently serves as their Vice President.
Marianne and her family live in Boston, MA.
