William Philip Werschler, MD
William Philip Werschler, MD, is the founding member of Spokane Dermatology Clinic and Werschler Aesthetics in Washington State. Previously, Dr. Werschler founded both Aesthetics Skin Care and the Aesthetic Image Medical Spa.
Dr. Werschler received his medical degree with distinction from George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, DC. After graduation he was invited to the University of Arizona, where he completed his preliminary training in internal medicine, and was asked to return to George Washington University to complete his dermatology fellowship. During his time in Washington, DC, he was selected to attend dermatology clinical consultations at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Werschler has been an active teaching member of the University of Washington, where he serves as an assistant clinical professor in medicine/dermatology.
Dr. Werschler is a full fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He is also a founding member and twice past president of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery as well as a past president of the Washington State Dermatology Association and the Spokane County Medical Society.
Drawing from his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Werschler has contributed to numerous studies, lectures, and publications in the field of dermatology. He is also on the editorial boards of Skin and Aging, Cutis, Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, and Pathways to Clinical Practice. He is the founding aesthetic editor of the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology. Additionally, Dr. Werschler is Editor-in-Chief of Cosmetic Dermatology.
Dr. Werschler is an internationally recognized expert in both medical and cosmetic dermatology/aesthetic surgery, and in this capacity he has been honored to serve as an FDA investigator for clinical trials in throughout his career. Today, nearly all of the FDA approved aesthetic injectable dermal fillers and toxins were tested in his research center, Premier Clinical Research, in Spokane. He is especially proud of his selection as one of the original Botox FDA investigators, where the pivotal clinical trial for FDA approval of Botox Cosmetic was conducted in his office.
