Derek Jones, MD
Board-certified in dermatology, Derek H. Jones, MD, received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and completed his dermatology residency at Columbia University in New York City, where he served as Chief Resident. In 1999 he founded Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills, where he is the Director. As Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Jones is an internationally regarded key opinion leader and researcher in minimally invasive facial aesthetics. He is frequently an invited speaker at prestigious dermatology meetings and has delivered more than 200 scholarly lectures internationally.
Dr. Jones is a widely published author, with more than 70 publications in leading peer-reviewed medical journals. He has written several textbook chapters and is editor of the acclaimed textbook Injectable Fillers: Principles and Practice (Wiley-Blackwell). Dr. Jones also serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Dermatologic Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine, and Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy.
Dr Jones has served as principal investigator on many clinical trials in facial aesthetics, including the trials that led to FDA approval of Juvéderm®, Latisse®, Belotero®, and Xeomin®. His current FDA research focuses on novel fillers that volumize the midface and injectable adipolytic products.
Dr Jones is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and serves on numerous leadership committees for both.
