Amber has been in clinical practice in Dermatology since 2012, and now practices at Dermatology, Laser & Vein Specialists of the Carolinas, with Dr. Munavalli, a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. In addition to holding a faculty position teaching cosmetics at Maui Derm NP+PA conferences, Amber also serves on the board of directors at the national level, as Director at Large, for the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Her love for educating has led her to work as an adjunctive guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern University’s MMS Physician Assistant program, and preceptor for both students and new derm PA’s in training . Amber has multiple articles published in peer reviewed dermatology journals, and was newly invited to serve as a guest editor and member of the editorial advisory board for “NP+PA Perspectives in Dermatology”, a peer-reviewed and Pubmed-indexed supplement series to The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology.
Residing in the Winter Park area, Amber enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and loves to travel. She also has a new member to the family, a mini-bernedoodle, who is fun, playful and very mischievous! Very grateful for where her journey has taken her thus far, Amber follows a very simplistic philosophy in life “have passion for everything that you do…combine that with focus, drive and hard work…everything else will fall into place”.
Amber now practices in a dermatology clinic in Winter Park, Florida, alongside a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. While she has a special interest in skin cancer surgery, Amber also has a passion for the art of aesthetic enhancement, pre-juvenation and rejuvenation achieved through cosmetic procedures. Her advanced training in these techniques has allowed her to hold a faculty position teaching cosmetic injectables at the Maui Derm NP+PA conferences. Additionally, her direct training under the medical director at the Winter Park Aesthetic Center allows her to incorporate cutting-edge laser technology into her patients’ comprehensive cosmetic treatment plans. Her wide-ranging skillset and interests in surgery, aesthetic medicine and general dermatology issues like psoriasis and acne allow for a diverse and fulfilling clinical practice.
Amber has spent a great deal of time carving out an intricate niche to incorporate many of her passions within the field of dermatology. Outside of her clinical practice, Amber serves on the board of directors at the national level and as Director at Large for the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). Amber has multiple articles published in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and was invited to serve as a guest editor and member of the editorial advisory board for “NP+PA Perspectives in Dermatology”, a peer-reviewed and Pubmed-indexed supplement series to The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology.
