Andrew J. Kaufman, MD
Andrew J. Kaufman, M.D., is in private practice in Thousand Oaks and Santa Barbara, California. He is the Medical Director of The Center for Dermatology Care, a multispecialty group of doctors whose primary focus is the skin care and treatment. Dr. Kaufman specializes primarily in Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstruction and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Kaufman graduated with honors from the University of California at Davis. He attended University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Kaufman completed a residency in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and another residency in dermatology at University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. He is one of a small number of dermatologists that is board certified in both dermatology and internal medicine. Dr. Kaufman completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and a fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He continues to teach residents and medical students at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where he is Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology. Dr. Kaufman regularly lectures at national and international meetings on Mohs surgery, reconstructive surgery and other facets of dermatologic surgery. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is the author of over twenty-five publications in the medical literature, four book chapters on topics in dermatologic surgery and a textbook on reconstruction, titled Practical Facial Reconstruction, Theory and Practice. He is co-editor of the second edition of Flaps and Grafts in Dermatologic Surgery.
